Evdokimov Father Frosts
TolsToys is proud to present our collection of Father Frosts created in the traditional style by Volodya and Lena Evdokimov. This artist couple live in Sergiev Posad, north of Moscow. Voladya is the carver of the exquisite Father Frosts, and Lena is the painter. Volodya received his formal training at the Bogorodskoye carving school, best known for its carvers of wooden toys. Lena is self-taught, and specializes in painting pine forests and elaborate designs on Father Frost's robe. When Lena is not painting, she has her hands full with two sons, Andrei, who is five, and Kiril, who is one. Click here to see our entire Evdokimov Father Frost collection.
Bogorodskoye Toys
These toys from the village of Bogorodskoye have been crafted by hand since the 17th century. The characters represent heroic animals from fables, legends and folk tales. Each figure is carved from a single block of linden wood. The toys are animated by swinging the ball underneath in a circle, or sometimes by pushing a wooden button.
